About Michelle
Learning how to speak the Spanish language (or any other language for that matter), represents caring about another culture by wanting to learn more about it. It means embracing and celebrating our differences as yet, ONE human race. I find it to be a way that brings the world together, and it's exactly that, that motivates me to teach Spanish.

My teaching method prioritizes learning how to speak Spanish neutrally so that it isn't specific to only one Hispanic culture. I also focus on speaking naturally without focusing so much on the technicalities of the language as this can cause greater focus on the little things than the bigger picture.
The goal in learning the language is to be able to understand and connect with other people. Which I believe is what makes me stand apart as a tutor because it's an unorthodox but effective approach as it entails a practical perspective towards the world and everyday living.
My lessons are for beginners and are very "hands-on" in the sense that I like to 1) learn, 2) study, and 3) apply all within the same lesson. I put a focus on identifying items through visuals, learning past, present, and future tense words, testing via questions and repetition, practicing 1:1 conversation, and much more.
My goal is to have my students feel confident carrying a conversation in Spanish within 2 months of sessions (depending on how often we are meeting on a weekly basis).
