About Sylvia
I have been teaching for 7+ years now and enjoy meeting new students and helping them acquire new skills or improve what they already know. I am currently teaching a family of 3 German students at different times. I believe it is best to teach one-on-one rather than in a classroom setting. My students have usually gone on to improve their grades and the adults have been able to do their jobs better and integrate themselves into the community with a better understanding of English.

I am a native born English speaker. Although I was born to Ecuadorian parents we were expected to speak both languages at home. When we moved to South America this became very handy as all subjects were in Spanish but the school was bilingual. My methods of instruction are very unstructured. I believe language should be learned through real-life actual situations: conversation, everyday practice, etc.
