About Yvonne

Coming from a BFA Music Theatre background at Point Park University, I find that most of my students arrive at our first meeting absolutely convinced they are bad at singing. Usually they are not actually struggling with ability as much as they are fighting their own nerves, so I prioritize teaching you to argue with me when you know you are right. My method focuses on pitch control, rhythm, phrasing, sight singing, and harmony singing to build a foundation.

I also cover exam preparation, belting technique, microphone control, breathing, vibrato, and tone resonance for my 500 students who range from nervous beginners to stage performers. It just comes down to getting the basics handled correctly.

About the lesson

Singing starts with understanding one idea properly instead of skimming through 5 different concepts that leave you feeling overwhelmed and confused. A typical hour involves me checking your support while you work through Aretha, Whitney, or Adele inspired riffs and runs until the muscle memory kicks in.

I provide recorded warm-up routines shared for daily home practice so you maintain your progress between our scheduled meetings. These audio files serve as your guide to ensure your technique stays consistent even when I am not sitting at the piano with you.

You will find that internalizing these small technical adjustments is the fastest way to gain control over you sound. This work builds the endurance required for long performance without straining your delicate vocal cords. We will keep refining these movements until your resonance becomes second nature. Achieving that specific vocal freedom is the ultimate result of our hard work.
