About Jay
About me - I was born and raised in San Francisco, attending San Francisco University High School. I am a second-year student at Vanderbilt University pursuing degrees in Economics and History, with a minor in French. This summer, I took classes at the London School of Economics in the UK.
I began tutoring students in my junior year of high school - in various other subjects areas including math, writing, and French.

Hi! My name is Jay and I am an economics and history student at Vanderbilt. Having recently navigated the college process myself, I know firsthand how a high SAT score can add serious weight to a student's application.
The online tutoring that I received helped me score a 1540 on the SAT. Lessons will be based on the tutoring that I received and the study methods that I found to be most helpful.
The primary material I use is "SAT PREP BLACK BOOK, second edition" by Mike Barrett and Patrick Barrett - which I believe to be the best prep book currently offered.
Lessons will involve the 8 official practice tests provided by CollegeBoard.
In addition to review of concepts, students will learn how to understanding the design of the test, which can be used to their advantage.
