About Amrutha

I am a Software Developer & tutor. I have 8 years of experience as a Software Developer and 8 years of experience as a part-time tutor. I started teaching mathematics and computer science when I was doing the final year of my undergraduate degree and continued tutoring even along with my job because of the love for teaching. I equally love programming and teaching!

About the lesson

My teaching method is to make the student understand the basic concepts of the subject and then test the abilities of the student repeatedly to make the student an expert in the subject by identifying the weak areas and provide more focus in those areas. The teaching speed is customized on the student's ability to grasp the contents.

Perfect! Amrutha is an excellent tutor! I would highly recommend her!

I thought I was going to fail my C programming final exam but thanks to her I managed to understand the concepts much better and I ended up doing very well on my final exam (getting an A) and passing my course overall with a 77% (the exam really brought up my mark!). Amrutha was patient and knowledgable! She took her time with me and made sure I understood all the concepts. She helped solidify my knowledge by working though practice examples with me. Im also very grateful she was willing to do a few long last minute sessions with me right before my exam! Thank you so much Amrutha!

1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I had a passion for teaching from a very small age onwards. I used to do role play with my younger sister and teach her with an actual black board and chalks which my mom would get me. I started tutoring professionally when I was doing my undergrad and started off with a single student. Later on, I continued tutoring part time even when I was working as a Software Developer.
2) What makes you passionate about your subject?
At heart, I am a computer programmer and I love coding. I understand logic and mathematics quite easily and hence that makes me passionate towards the subjects which I teach the most : Mathematics and Computer Science.
3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I like making people understand things/concepts and it gives me great happiness when someone says they are able to like a subject which they were clueless about earlier after my tutoring.
4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
I am inspired by my mother who is a teacher and many of my school teachers who are absolutely dedicated to their profession. They connect with the students and enable them to love the subjects and understand it. It is only because of the strong base that I received in my school that I am able to do well academically even now.
5) What are your keys to success?
Passion for the subjects and patience.
