About Aimee
Aimee Banks is a 23-year-old Soprano from Galway, Ireland. She is currently undertaking a Master’s in Music Performance at the Royal College of Music London, as an RCM Scholar. She graduated with First Class Honors from the Bachelors of Music Performance under the tutelage of Kathleen Tynan, Head of Opera and Vocal Studies and répétiteur Dearbhla Collins at The Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
She has attended Masterclasses with Ann Murray, Paul McNamara, Ricardo Tamura, Stefania Dohvan, Mark Sampson, Bruno Caproni and Julian Evans, Imelda Drumm and Della Jones.
An award-winning vocalist Aimee currently holds a number of vocal titles and was awarded as the winner of the Junior Class of the Charles Wood International Song competition 2023, The Irene Sandford Award and Bursary 2022, The Birr Lions Club Bursary at Birr Festival of Music 2022, The Vladimir Piontkovsky Memorial Scholarship At Saluzzo Opera Academy 2022, the Eimear Noonan Music Bursary Award 2020 and The most Promising Performer and Bursary at The Irene Sandford Award 2020. Aimee was a finalist in the Veronica Dunne Bursary for Young Irish Singers 2023 and the Bernadette Greevy Bursary for Singers 2022. She was a multi-award winner at Newpark Festival of Music 2023 & Dublin Feis Ceoil 2023, including the Plunkett Greene Cup for interpretation and the German Government Cup for Bach Aria. Aimee was also a finalist in the Gervase Elwes Competition 2022 & 2023. Aimee received a Silver Award in the 1st Vienna International Music Competition 2019, she is also the most recent Overall Junior Vocalist at Sligo Feis Ceoil.
Aimee is no stranger to solo performances and concerts and has performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall New York USA, The National Concert Hall, Christchurch Cathedral and The National Gallery of Ireland. Solo performances include Ann Murray's Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Concert Hall, Europe Day Concert at RIAM Dublin and the University Concert Hall Limerick Rising Stars Concert (All of which were broadcast on LyricFM). Recital's include the Music for Galway recital series accompanied by Dearbhla Collins, the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival Christmas Recital 'Classics at Christmas' at Castlemartyr Resort and the First Church Belfast recital series. She has also had the honor of performing at the Irish Government’s launch of the 1916 Commemorations in Dublin’s Convention Centre, National Famine Commemoration in 2020 and has also performed at Áras an Uachtaráin for the President of Ireland Micheal D. Higgins.
Aimee debuted as the young Giordano Bruno in Roger Doyle’s Opera, 'Heresy', where she received commendation from Opera World, The Irish Times and Opera Today. In 2024 she performed the titular role of Cendrillion by Pauline Viardot in March with RIAM Opera. In November of 2023 she performed the role of May Zambra in Stephen McNeff's opera Spirits Unsurrendered with RIAM Opera & This Then Theatre. She was a member of the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival Chorus 2023 in their production of Verdi's Macbeth. She played the roles of Amore and Damigella in Monteverdi’s L'incoronazione di Poppea at Saluzzo Opera Academy 2022, and performed the role of Damigella in RIAM Opera’s production of La liberazione di Ruggiero dall'isola d'Alcina written by Francesca Caccini.

My main goal as a teacher is to create a positive and relaxed learning environment. Singing can be quite a daunting task especially when singing in front of someone new.
My lessons are tailored to you and your needs, whether you need help with breathing, high notes, belting, I’m here to help!
I have over 4 years of teaching experience and have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance (Honours First Class) from The Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College Dublin.
My students have been multi-award winners in Feis Ceoil, Newpark Festival and the Castleknock Music Festival.
They have also achieved honours and distinctions from the RIAM Singing grades.
Some of them have gone on to perform on the Late Late Toy Show and have been cast as leads in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical, Frozen Junior, The Addams Family and many more!
All levels and ages are welcome!
