I had Xiaoya's piano lessons at NYU, and the piece we did together was Chopin's Andante Spianato and Grande Polanaise. The piece was challenging and bothered me a lot. However, Xiaoya helped me solve lots of technical problems including fingers and emotions. Most importantly, Xiaoya encouraged me and push me to practice more. That was exactly why I could finish the major part of this piece in a semester.

Xiaoya is my piano private lesson tutor, and I have followed her teaching in the 2021 spring and summer semesters. Before I took her lesson, I thought that a piano tutor was not required for an intermediate player since it was enough for me to read the staves and played them on the piano. But I have realized that this is not the truth after I take her classes. Xiaoya carefully explained to me the supposed rhythms and the distinct techniques that I never thought of before. It is clear to me that those techniques made a tremendous difference in my performances, and it is the first time that I touched the cornerstone of professional piano studies. At the same time, Xiaoya recommended many melodious pieces to me, which are the right tastes for me. I really appreciate her for her teaching, and I also wish her a bright career in the piano, which she deserves.
