About Gianfranco
As a first-generation and re-entry student, I have invested extensive hours in self-tutoring, aiming to evolve and perfect my writing style as well as my understanding of rhetorical language. This challenging phase not only disciplined the presentation of my ideas but also inspired my professional goal of becoming a post-doctorate teacher and researcher in literature. My teaching methodology typically begins by enumerating, in hyphenated form, the topics of discussion, then proceeding to highlight key concepts, their definitions, and applications in different linguistic and extra-linguistic environments. To aid my explanations, I normally resort to including fragments from lyrics, poems, movies, and essays. That phase constitutes the larger part of tutoring, for it demands clarification, complication, and discussion of ideas in a Socratic-dialogue style. Finally, I end my tutoring session with a set of practice exercises, a summary, and a homework assignment.
