I am a grade 12 student currently studying at Pretoria High School for Girls. I have gone through tutor training courses at school, and I am a fully qualified tutor. I enjoy tutoring maths, as it Is not only a very logical subject, it can also be very enjoyable

When I first start tutoring a new student, I like to ask them what they think they are struggling with. I then let them do an exercise on their own on that topic so I can assess how much help they need. Once I am done with that topic, and I have helped them master it, I let them do a test, will other topics as well as the one we just covered. This usually reveals what else they need help in. I also like letting them explain topics to me that they don't understand. More often than not, they know much more about the topic than they are letting on.
