About Dave
For 20 years I was an English teacher who wanted to be a writer. Now I'm a writer who also teaches. Having self-published my own work and advised hundreds of students from all over the world, I have a wealth of experience of all the problems writers face - characterisation, plot development, narrative voice, and so on.

My method is collaborative - you have the initial ideas and I help you polish them until they shine. For example, when a passage you've written just isn't working and you can't figure out why not, I can look with fresh eyes and see the problem. More importantly, I'll explain why it's a problem, suggest ways to solve it, and why another way is more effective..
