About Irma
I am a secondary English Language Arts teacher with 7 years of classroom experience. I have taught both advanced, academic, and ESL classes. I also have experience teaching English to adults in my community. I believe that every learner is unique and that often, one method may not work for everyone, so it is important to figure out how everyone learns, individually, and try to approach teaching in that way.

My teaching method involves developing a mini-lesson. Whatever topic we are covering, I would provide a mini-lesson to cover what you need to know about the topic, an opportunity for us to practice together, and an opportunity for you, the student, to practice on your own with immediate feedback from me. Depending on how the lesson goes, we may close with a reflection on what we learned, or a reteach to make sure the concept was understood to the fullest extent.
My lessons are geared towards high school students (9-12) and early college courses, like English 1301.
