About Julia
I am an independent, hard working and diligent student that is still studying in college. This means I understand the ups and downs of school and studying. I hope hope to be a tutor that can relate to my students rather than intimidate them.
Throughout most of secondary school, I would suffer from a lack of motivation. Rather than being excited and interested in what I was learning, I felt bogged down by assignments and homework.
It was during my first year of college, that I discovered my passion (biology) and how I can study it best. I started using new and effective study methods, which allowed me to do well without having to memorise anything.
This is what I want to instil in my students. A love for learning.

Rather than creating an environment similar to school or a classroom, my lessons are meant to be personally tailored to the student in front of me.
My lessons are most suited to primary and secondary school students that need to motivation to do well in school.
Each week will begin with an overview of the subjects that the student struggles with. The goal will then be to help the student UNDERSTAND the topic rather than memorise information to pass the exam. Progressive methods such as active recall will be used with the help of flashcards, past papers, diagrams etc.
My goal as a tutor is to inspire students and show them how to love learning, rather than to go through school waiting for it to be over.
