About Helen
Hello! I am a second year undergraduate student at the University of Warwick studying German and History. I love to teach and working with young people has been one of the most consistent joys in my life. In fact, next academic year I will be embarking on my Year Abroad in Germany where I will be working for the British Council as an English Language Assistant in German schools.

As someone who has had my own battles with German Grammar, I know what a tricky language it can be to tackle. I like to break down what you already know and then supplement your existing skills, teaching new vocabulary and grammar structures so that you never feel like you are working up from nothing. I am also highly proficient in German speaking and can alter this to an appropriate level for GCSE learning and your own individual needs. I specialise in translation as this is my passion. I offer 30 minute to 1 hour lessons depending on what best suits your working style and schedule. My Qualifications: GCSE- 9, A-Level- B, First Year of University- 1st I also received an award from my department for 'Most Improved Proficiency in German' in my First Year. In terms of tutoring, I have 6 years of youth work experience as a volunteer with Girlguiding and a year of tutoring experience. In this year I was tutoring a Year 11 and together we managed to boost her attainment from a Grade 3 at her initial Year 11 mocks to a final result of a Grade 6. I primarily offer GCSE tutoring as I believe that some of the more complex Grammar topics studied at A-Level need to be tutored by someone with native level fluency in the language but I am happy to do speaking practice with A-Level learners and work with them on their Independent Research projects.
