I have given lessons for about 3 months, teaching English for an orphan child in Vietnam. My sister is in grade 9 who seeks help from me with her Science subjects all the time, so I understand what should I do to make a child understand a new knowledge.

My explanation is clear, short and I often use analogy to help them imagine a picture in their head, from that, understand the concept, rather than just basically explaining what it is. I often help the student to link a new concept back to their previous ones. I believe doing so will help them understand thoroughly instead of remembering the concepts as individual pieces of knowledge
