About Henry
I am currently studying Economics and History at Durham University, where I have achieved a First in my formative examinations. I tutor Economics at A level and GCSE. My GCSE students moved up an average of 1.7 grades in the 2024 cohort in just 3 months. At school I achieved 4 A*s at A level, and eight 9s and 2 8s at GCSE. I have also won prestigious prizes and research grants in the field of economics, winning Oxford University's Stubb's Society essay completion in 2023, The Nicholas Barnes Trust Award for Best EPQ in 2024, and the UK Competition and Market Authority's (CMA) 2024 Essay Prize on how the AI revolution will affect pricing strategies and competition regulation. My approach has a proven track record of success with past tutees: it combines clear explanations of difficult concepts, practical problem-solving, honing exam technique and bringing in my own recent experience of going through A levels and GCSEs, but ultimately seeking to foster a passion for the subject and bring it to life. I have a particular skill for inspiring students who don't feel confident and giving them the belief that they can achieve whatever grade they set their mind to. I remember what it was like to be a student and struggle with exam technique and difficult concepts, and I am here as someone on the other side - who has overcome those hurdles and developed a set of winning strategies to ace the exams and get the A*.
