It is with tremendous pleasure I am writing this statement on behalf of Mrs. Zahra Ramezani whom I have known as Ms. Zara. I owe her tremendously for her amazing and painstakingly crafted ENG4U course in high school, where I learnt how to master essay writing methods for five various essay genres. When I decided to attend medical school in Ireland, I couldn't have imagined her incredible knowledge and expertise. I have had the honor of being Zahra’s student in chemistry university preparation courses of SCH3U and SCH4U. Since she integrated chemistry, biology and physics, I benefitted in other science subjects and found my way to biomedical science with ease and confidence. My name is Sonia Lin, I was one of Mrs. Ramazani’s students from Class of 2018. I am writing to you because I want to show my deepest appreciation for her for the amazing lessons she taught me. I am currently pursuing Law, and I've written papers that I never thought I could be capable of starting. When I attended my English courses in grades 6-10, I was never properly taught how to write a simple paragraph and I was always suspended in worries knowing the demand in the university years. After I completed my English University Preparation Courses of ENG3U and ENG4U with Mrs. Ramezani, I truly realized what writing and thinking critically meant. Her lessons all wonderfully designed by herself with superb lectures supported by stimulating audiovisual extensions were all I needed to equip myself for the university. Today my greatest weakness in Junior high has been transformed to my greatest asset- I am earning high if not the highest marks with my papers in university. Peers come to me for help with editing and proofreading…….and I believe that I owe this to Mrs. Ramezani. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to express myself over her influence on developing my analytical skills both in reading and writing. I have known Zahra as the English and science teacher of my two sons in Dominican International School in Taipei. She is the most competent teacher my children ever had in their high school. She possesses an outstanding methodology-a systematic approach with in-depth teaching and learning strategies. Students learn and practice vigorously in class without much need to study at home. My sons obtained marks two to three levels higher than their actual grade level in IOWA Standardized tests which was administered in DIS every year by a team from IOWA in the States. Her competence in teaching science and her students' rate of success in University resulted in her earning an International award. Her professional and positive attitude together with her success-winning teaching style are among many memorable qualities that my sons and I will always remember and are grateful for. Zahra was my college instructor of English. Her commitment to time and the quality of the lessons she gave and the resources she masterfully and artistically created were unparalleled.
