About George
I am a Physicist. I have completed a Master's degree at The University of Sheffield before continuing to work as a research scientist at the university contributing to numerous research article published in respectable research journals. I particularly enjoyed my role of sharing my skills with upcoming students which led me to move into becoming a secondary school teacher. I believe that students learn best when they feel like they are in a safe environment where they feel able to attempt problems to the best of their ability without fear of being made to feel bad when they get it wrong. Making mistakes is how we learn. I am here to spot the mistakes and help students notice them so they are less likely to make them in future allowing them to succeed.

Learning is much easier when it is engaging. Lessons usually start with what we are looking to learn and why it is important or interesting. If this is done well then learning the knowledge and skills feels interesting and easy. Every lesson will also have some time to practice the new knowledge or skills guided by me and then some independent practice to check you have mastered the skill. I can then supply further practice to allow you to cement the skill into your long term memory.
