About Rana
My name is Rana, a secondary school science teacher, but my passion for science started long before that. Growing up, I was always fascinated by how things work that we can’t always see. Whether it was the body systems in biology, or chemical reactions and different elements in chemistry. I loved science, but I know it can sometimes feel overwhelming and frustrating, especially when things don’t click straight away.
That’s one of the main reasons I’m excited about tutoring. I really wish I’d had a tutor like myself back when I was studying for my GCSEs. There were times when I struggled to get my head around certain topics, and I know how much of a difference it would have made to have someone who could explain things in a way that made sense to me. Now, I want to offer that support to you.
When I tutor, I focus on making complex topics feel simple and approachable. Whether it’s breaking down tricky equations in maths or explaining the chemical reactions in science, I’ll help you understand the "why" behind the concepts. My goal is to make learning interactive, engaging, and clear so you don’t just memorise formulas, but truly understand how and why they work.
I also know how important the GCSEs are, and I want to help you feel confident and prepared. I’ll work with you to identify the areas where you need support and then break them down step-by-step, using real-life examples and techniques that make sense. No matter where you're starting from, we’ll focus on building your confidence and skills in a way that feels manageable.

When it comes to tutoring, I believe that every student is different, and my goal is to create a learning experience that works for you. I focus on building good relationships with my students, understanding what they need, what challenges they face, and what goals they’re working towards. That way, I can tailor each lesson to be as effective and enjoyable as possible.
Here is how I would tutor you:
Customized Learning Plans: As every student has a different style of learning, I will design lessons based on your individual strengths and challenges. Also, I would know exactly what your needs are and plan our lessons accordingly, whether you're preparing for an exam and we target exam style questions and papers, tackling tough topics and going through it one by one, or just need help building your confidence in a subject.
Engagement: I would use interactive methods such as whiteboards and apply content to real life scenarios to make lessons engaging and ensure you’re truly understanding the material, not just memorising it.
Tracking Your Progress: I will keep track of how you’re doing and adjust our lessons as needed, in order to help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject and develop skills that will stick with you..
I will be available outside of sessions for any follow-up questions, extra help, or just to give you that extra push when you need it.
