About Denise
I am a graduate of Rutgers University with an academic background in sociology, liberal studies, and psychology, and I bring both formal education and real-world experience into every tutoring session. I approach my work with professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for each student’s growth. My experience working with children in educational and caregiving settings has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and maintain a calm, supportive environment. I prioritize strong communication, organization, and evidence-based strategies to help students build confidence and independence in their learning. Whether supporting foundational skills or higher-level coursework, I strive to create a structured yet encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging deeply with the material. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students develop critical thinking, self-awareness, and long-term learning skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Denise was very helpful with writing my college essay. I was stuck on what to write and she explained it in a way that made me want to write about myself and my future. She helped me not look at it as an assignment, but the next step in my life!
