About Zara
I am a graduate of archaeology from Newcastle University, where I achieved a 2:1 BA Hons degree. Though I have never tutored before, I have led an extra-curricular theatre class at a primary school and recently graduated from Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. My extensive experience with a wide range of age groups in amateur dramatics means I am comfortable working with a wide range of people and teaching is something I feel is key to academia- in order to share information academically (through peer-reviewed articles or books), you must be able to simplify it and make it accessible to people who struggle with the subject.

I believe tailoring my teaching to the needs of the individual is extremely important in learning. It would be incredibly useful, then, to have a session where I can understand what kind of learner the individual is (visual, auditory or practical) so that I may then plan each teaching session using techniques I know works for that type of learner. As a person who suffers from and has learnt to compensate for a learning difficulty, I also believe each session should be focused not only on the subject matter but also how to approach this in exam conditions- using past papers and past examples. Half of the battle of learning is approaching the questions!
