About Kelly
I’m an RCM Grade 10 pianist (First Class Honors) with 12+ years of experience teaching students ages 4 through adult. My lessons are tailored to each learner—combining technique, theory, ear training and sight reading—so beginners feel supported and experienced players stay challenged. I prepare students for recitals and RCM exams (Levels 1–8), and I’m equally happy to teach “just for fun” with favorite pieces, lead sheets, or film/pop repertoire. Expect organized, professional lessons with clear goals and a simple weekly practice plan after every class. I’m reliable, friendly, and communicative; parents can receive brief progress updates on request. Instruction available online (and in person where feasible), with straightforward studio policies and flexible scheduling.

I teach piano with a technique-first, musical approach: healthy posture/hand shape, relaxed mechanics, steady rhythm (metronome), reading, ear training, and theory woven into real pieces. A typical 45–60-minute lesson includes a brief warm-up (scales/arpeggios), focused work on assigned pieces using “slow–chunk–loop–speed up,” a short musicianship task (sight-reading/ear), and a clear weekly practice plan. I stand out with RCM Grade 10 Piano (First Class Honors), Kiwanis awards, and 10+ years teaching/performing. Lessons suit beginners to early-advanced students (ages 5–adult), including RCM Levels 1–10 and casual learners; English/Mandarin, online or in person.
