About Jacob
I am a drummer who has been playing drums for 15 years. I began playing professionally in 2010 and attended Berklee College of Music in 2015. I have played for several bands both in the studio and live. the genres I am most comfortable in are Rock, Pop, and Indie but I have played everything from orchestral percussion to Jazz as well. (Some bands/acts I have played in: How to Drown a Fish, Andrew Edward Garcia, Don't Worry About It, Savannah Smith as well as others). In my time at shows and in the studio I have learned plenty of practical knowledge that I would love to share with my students. In addition to being a professional music, I produce, mix, and record music as well. With this experience, I have insight into all aspects of the music industry and can help students who have interests outside of just playing as well. I would love to help you progress your playing and grow as musician!

Drummers of all ages and all walks of life are welcome! I especially would like to help any drummers who are either just starting out or who have been playing for a few years. I can help you whether you have hit a plateau and don't know where to improve next or if you are just learning the basics.
My philosophy towards teaching stems from the Montessori method of teaching. I believe that hands on learning and collaboration are an excellent way to improve musicality and confidence behind the drum set. Each student has a unique voice and interest in music and I want to help develop those ideas as you learn your instrument. I focus on both technique and creativity during lessons and create a unique lesson plan for each student. I want all of my students to walk away from their lesson feeling inspired to play the coolest instrument out there!
