I firstly need to understand the learners' understanding of the subject. I prefer to start with basics without focusing too much on them. My approach is not the same for all learners as I have learned over time that individuals differ in their way of grabbing a concept and understanding. I try to use as many examples as possible and give the learner a chance to solve the problems and teach others what s/he understands.
