- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring children in Mandarin for nearly 1 year. I plan courses both for one-on-one tutoring as well as teaching groups. Recently, I've worked as a teaching assistant in a weekend Chinese school with a group of kids aged 1-5. In the past few years, I have helped adults and elderly people in continuing their education and guiding them towards appropriate resources and networks.
In the past few years, I've been guiding adult and senior learners to reach appropriate educational resource. I have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy helping people to keep learning. I am patient with senior people and little children. I believe it's because I design the learning experience in an inspiring and encouraging way.

I am Rita, a Mandarin native speaker from Taiwan. I love teaching students to speak and write Mandarin through craft, games, toys and colouring in, to ensure they learn Mandarin with joy.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Everyday Mandarin: I teach everyday Mandarin for children and adults, aged more than 4. This will focus on speaking, listening and reading. Writing skills will be taught according to the student's situation.
Mandarin exams: I can help with HSK exams and GCSE Mandarin. Exam and study skills as well as Mandarin knowledge will be covered.
I also offer intensive speaking practice, homework instruction and check and other sorts of services. If you have other learning needs, please message me for further information.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I obtained my master degree in the UK in 2015. I was certified by National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan in 2014. The qualification is Teaching Chinese as a Foreign/Second Language.
- How much do you charge?
The sessions are 1 hour.
Everyday Mandarin class is £25/hr (For kids under 6 years old, this will include a 5 minute break)
Mandarin exam preparation class is £25/hr (includes some time for mock exam)
Intensive Mandarin speaking class, £20/hr (at least 2 sessions a week)
The price is for one on one tutoring. Group learning is only available for children, maximum 4 children per session. £30/hr for 2 children, £35 for 3 children, £40 for 4 children.
There is a charge for travel at about £3- £5 per session for location over 5 miles.
- Where do you teach?
Mostly at students' homes. For adults, classes can be arranged in fast food restaurants, coffee shops and libraries. I am willing to travel within 5 miles. With some charge for travel, I am willing to travel over 5 miles.
- When are you available?
Weekday after school tutoring, from 3 pm.
Saturday: after 2:30 pm only around High Barnet area.
