About Phoebe
I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Performance and have 12 years of experience teaching guitar to beginners, intermediate players, and advanced learners. My academic training included solo performance preparation, ensemble collaboration, and advanced music theory studies. These experiences shaped my understanding of both technical precision and expressive interpretation. Throughout my teaching career, I have guided students preparing for school performances, auditions, and personal musical goals.
My teaching philosophy focuses on structure, patience, and measurable improvement. I believe that students grow best when lessons are organized and expectations are clear. Many learners appreciate my calm explanations and detailed demonstrations. I carefully assess each student’s strengths and challenges so I can adjust lesson plans effectively. Encouraging confidence and independence is always a central part of my teaching approach.
Beyond teaching, I continue refining my own performance skills and studying new instructional methods. Lifelong learning helps me remain effective and motivated. Watching students progress from basic exercises to confident stage performances brings me great satisfaction. My guitar lessons are designed to create strong technical accuracy while building musical confidence. We begin with posture correction, relaxed wrist alignment, and proper finger placement. I guide students through chord clarity exercises that improve clean sound production. Rhythm training includes structured counting, metronome practice, and steady strumming drills. Each lesson begins with focused warm-ups that strengthen finger control and improve coordination between both hands. I explain every technique clearly so students understand the purpose behind each exercise.
As learners advance, we work on scale patterns, arpeggios, and expressive techniques such as slides, bends, and dynamic control. I teach students how to analyze song structure, making memorization and performance more efficient. Improvisation exercises help build creativity and listening skills. For performance preparation, we practice complete pieces under timed conditions to improve focus and stage confidence. I also provide structured home practice plans to ensure consistent improvement between sessions.
My goal is to develop independent guitarists who combine discipline with creativity. I offer detailed, constructive feedback while maintaining a motivating environment. Over time, students gain stronger tone control, better rhythm stability, and increased performance confidence. I aim to help every learner experience steady progress and long-term musical growth.
