About Xavier
My education has been a very traditional one. As a young boy I was a chorister in Salisbury Cathedral. From there I won a music scholarship to Charterhouse. After Charterhouse I went with a choral scholarship to St John's College, Cambridge where, in 2015 I graduated with a first class degree in Classics. After graduating I taught Latin at the Perse Girls' School in Cambridge. Having done this for a year I moved to Moscow and tutored the two daughters of a Russian family in English, Maths, History and Sciences. I have recently won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music to study singing at postgraduate level. My experience as a student is still fresh in my mind, as is my experience as a teacher. Whether it be singing or maths, Latin or biology, I have an appreciation for the perspective of the pupil and that has and will inform my teaching and make it more empathetic and more clear. I know that for a pupil to progress they must be enthused and they must feel that the work they do is productive. I am keen to ensure clear notes are taken so that pupils always have physical proof of the work they have done.

Xavier is an extremely capable teacher. He brings enthusiasm and interest to any subject he is teaching.
Xavier is also very able academically, with wide subject knowledge and understanding that branches across many subjects. He would be someone who could aid and guide any student with care and attention.Xavier is a committed and charismatic teacher: he is keen for the students he works with to have a genuine understanding of Latin / Classical Greek and he is patient and thorough in his approach. He would work well with students of a range of ages. During his work as a teacher at the Stephen Perse Foundation he built up positive relationships with his classes and filled many students with enthusiasm for the subjects he was teaching.
