About Reuben
I'm a first-year university student based in Canberra, studying a double degree in Psychology at ANU after completing my own HSC in Newcastle. Having sat the exams myself not long ago, I know exactly what the pressure feels like and what it actually takes to perform on the day. History was one of my strongest subjects and I genuinely loved it, which is probably why I find it so easy to get students engaged with the content. There's nothing worse than a tutor who makes ancient civilizations or twentieth-century conflicts feel like a chore, so I work hard to make the material click in a way that also translates into strong responses under exam conditions.

I offer HSC tutoring in both Modern History and Ancient History, with a focus on building the analytical and essay writing skills that examiners actually reward. My lessons are structured around the specific demands of each module, whether that's unpacking sources for Pompeii and Herculaneum, developing an argument for a National Study, or navigating the historiographical expectations of History Extension crossover content.
I also have experience in science extension and can offer guidance with report writing.
