About Michaela
I’ve been working in public schools since I was 16 years old, starting as a peer mentor and working my way up to becoming a full-time teacher. I know how to be a team player and the importance of every role in a successful education team, including and most importantly the needs and wants of the student. I believe that everyone is worthy of respect, success, and a good education, no matter what your age is. With me, I will treat you the way that all people want to be treated and your voice will matter to me always.

I believe in hands-on learning. I am a huge fan of using manipulatives such as blocks, Play-Doh, shaving cream, bingo counters, and more to teach concepts in reading and math. You can form letters and numbers out of anything and the sky's the limit with me. I am also a huge fan of using picture books for teaching comprehension, the more colorful the better. I work with my students on foundational reading and mathematics skills as well as learning how to write.
