About Jim
I graduated in May from the University of Missouri with degrees in Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies, as well as a minor in Statistics. Upon finishing school, I have discovered an interest in teaching; I am particularly interested in teaching high school mathematics and plan to earn my teaching certification soon. I have always enjoyed learning in any capacity or subject area and would be pleased to assist with any tutoring needs.

My teaching methodology revolves around pushing students and into a "yellow zone." The green zone (or comfort zone) is safe and happy, but no growth occurs there. A red zone is too far from comfortable and becomes a distraction. In the yellow, we are able to grow and learn. I also rely on asking questions to guide students to answers. If I lecture someone, they may hear the information, but they will not discover it themselves. That is my goal as a teacher.
