I am very much fascinated about empowering others to achieve their full potential, whether it is helping students to prepare for exams, working together on class work they need guidance on or helping them improve in a particular subject they’re struggling with.
During my time as a tutor, I have helped English students proofread their essays and make corrections, taught them how to write great summary papers, how to analyze and comprehend a passage, how to use stylistic or persuasive elements, such as word choice or appeals to emotion to add power to their ideas expressed in essays. I have also assisted students with their mathematics problems and taught them shortcut methods to solve questions and broken-down solutions step-by-step for their better understanding. I must say that I have enjoyed every minute of it so far because it gives me joy to see other students doing well and becoming better learners than they were prior to having a tutoring session with me.
I try my best to get to know each student on a personal level, since I have found that my tutees tend to be more comfortable and communicative with me if they feel like we are on close terms with each other. Interacting with my tutees on a one-on-one basis establishes a stronger bond, as well as a higher level of trust and respect, which allows me to work with them more effectively.
My compassionate and tranquil nature makes me an incredibly unique tutor. I want to motivate my tutees with praise of promising work. Telling them that they did well, instead of criticizing their work and discussing mistakes or areas that need improvements are some of my approaches when dealing with my remarkable tutees. I am very fortunate to be of above average intelligence and I want to help as many students as I can have better learning experiences and become exceptional students. It is not the act that matters to me but knowing that I can help students who are going through significant challenges makes me even more eager to assist them in their educational journey.
