About Ashley
I have been teaching for over 20 years and have been a certified Texas teacher for 10 years. I started my career in different areas of education, from preschool to tutoring children and adults for the first 10 years. In 2014, I earned my Bachelor's in education; in 2020 I earned my Master's in Educational Administration and in 2021 I earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified by the Texas Education Agency to teach all subjects in grades PreK-6th; English in grades 4-8th; ESL (English as a Second Language); GT (Gifted and Talented); and Dyslexia. I have taught in public and charter schools in different areas with a focus on reading instruction and reading intervention. I have taught all subjects in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I have also taught 6th grade Reading and Honors English, 7-8 Reading Intervention, and 6-8 ESL.

Tutoring sessions are targeted for students that are struggling with their reading skills at any level; whether you are in elementary and need help improving your basic reading levels/comprehension skills or you need help with your high school English course. Your reading and writing goals will be mastered with 1:1 tutoring. Based on the learner's needs, skills will include: 1. Phonics and phonemic awareness skills 2. Reading fluency and comprehension skills 3. Writing conventions, paragraphs, and essays 4. Test-taking skills We will cover any and all reading and writing skills the learner needs to improve on.
