About Zain
I am a first year undergraduate student at UCL studying French and Italian. As you can tell from my degree, I am an avid linguist with a passion for learning and improving my language skills. I have learnt (and taught myself) French, Italian and Arabic from scratch, so I know the difficulties of language learning at every stage of the process. Having achieved four A*s in my A Levels (French, Italian, Politics and Maths) and won the school’s French award both for GCSE and A Level, I consider myself a hard worker, but I also don’t like tedious studies which French is often perceived as when taught at school. I want to transform learning French into a pleasurable experience as it was for myself.
Although I may seem to be quite an academic person, I am actually very chilled out and relaxed and I enjoy having a laugh which I hope is possible during our lessons too. The best thing about language tuition is that you can learn so much while simply having a chat in another language.

Speaking in the target language is definitely the best way to improve and reach your goals, whatever they may be. While speaking as much French as possible during our lesson (don’t worry about making mistakes!) I will help in whichever area, whether it may be grammar, reading, translation or writing. While studying A Level French, not only did I tutor my classmates, but I also taught students lower down in the school with the basics. I will try my best to bring the best out of your French, regardless of your level.
