About Samantha
I am a final year Electrical and Aerospace Engineering Honours student. I have a passion for teaching, and love to help students reach their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment. I have experience tutoring Math at all levels, General Science, Physics, English, ICT/IPT. Over the last 7 years, I have taught over 50 students. Many families have asked me to come back and tutor their younger children. Some of my former students have gone on to study Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Nursing, Fine Art/Drama, and Physiotherapy.

My teaching approach is one of understanding and patience. Not all students learn the same way, so I mix theory-based lessons with visualisation techniques, hands-on practice, demonstrations, quizzes, self-evaluation, introspection, and the occasional experiment (think: Mentos rocket to demonstrate Physics and Chemistry principles). I believe in positive reinforcement and encouragement rather than criticism and ridicule. For younger students I often use a reward system - completing work to a high standard earns a prize. I sometimes set easy homework tasks that encourage a student's learning activities where warranted, and I tailor my lessons to the student's classwork assessments or areas where they are struggling.
