About Gareth
Hi, I’m Gareth. I’m a local tutor who loves helping learners grow in confidence. I am a native British citizen.
I became a tutor because I know how hard it feels when you fall behind others around you, and how great it is when someone believes in you and helps you to proudly stand on your feet again .
I started gaining tutoring experience while I was working in Africa. There I helped my learners gain knowledge of subjects as diverse as English and mathematics, quality management, power plant operation and maintenance and personnel management.
I currently work online with children in KS2, KS3 and KS4 who need support with mathematics and English, and face-to-face with adult learners of English as a Second Language.
To my learners - I need you to ask questions when you don't understand or when something is not clear. I will also need you to follow my guidance to attain our goals. You will gain the confidence that you need to learn.

I use modelling technique extensively.
I prefer to use online tutoring but am open to face to face if it will help the learner.
Lessons are typically one hour.
I tutored for over 20 years in Africa while employed as a development project manager, and for the past five years in the UK.
My techniques attract learners who are keen to learn the agreed syllabus in a systematic manner.
