About Amy
Currently, I work for an education charity that provides academic support to children and young people from backgrounds underrepresented in higher education. In my role, I help students with their school work as well as delivering sessions that complement the current school curriculum and raise aspirations. In addition, I volunteer as a maths tutor weekly for the National Tutoring Programme.
Previously, I taught GCSE and functional skills maths at an FE college where, in addition to leading classes, I also held 1:1 support sessions for students who had fallen behind. I have also worked as a maths and science tutor both in a tuition centre and online as a part of a wider participation programme. Thus, I have had extensive experience teaching students aged 7-18 from a variety of backgrounds.
I graduated with a Masters degree in Natural Sciences, which required the completion of maths, physics and chemistry modules. Therefore, I can provide students not only with a deep understanding of their chosen topic but also with a wider context of their learning.

Perfect! Really helped
My daughter needed some intensive tutoring to halp catch up with GCSEs after an extended period of illness. Amy came through for us and managed to get my daughter out of the pit of despair she was in.

My daughter has had Amy for 3 sessions now for Maths.
She needs help with filling in some gaps before GCSE’s next year. Amy has so far been fantastic. Very friendly, great at explaining and has a good rapour with my daughter. After one lesson my daughter actually said she’d enjoyed it which is a first! Slowly my daughter says she’s grasping some subjects she didn’t understand before.

Amy helped with maths tuition for my teenager. Fantastic teacher.
Amy has been a maths tutor for MagiKats and has helped students from 4 - 16 learn to understand and enjoy maths. She is lively and knows maths very well. She is able to explain concepts in terms that make sense to her students. They responded well to her approach and made steady progress towards their goals.
