About Tanaka
My name is Tanaka Ndongwe, a pharmaceutical scientist from Pretoria, South Africa. I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a Master of Pharmacy with Distinction, and I am currently in the final stages of my PhD in Pharmacy. I have spent over seven years in academic and research environments, not only studying science at the highest level but teaching it too.
**Why I Teach**
Science was never just a subject for me — it was a calling. The same drive that pushed me through years of rigorous study is the drive that brings me to tutoring. I know what it feels like to sit with a difficult concept and not understand it. I also know the breakthrough moment when it finally makes sense — and that moment is what I want every learner to experience.
Having lectured and mentored students at university level, I discovered something important: I am not just good at science, I am good at *explaining* it. There is a real difference. I have a natural ability to simplify complex ideas, meet learners where they are, and build their confidence alongside their knowledge. Teaching is how I give back.
