About Lydia
I am a 27 year old highly experienced in childcare from ages 2-15! I am also training to be a yoga teacher and love the warm, enthusiastic vibes that children bring to life! I find that I can weave in my yoga training to my teaching and childcare to bring an element of calm to any chaos that may arise between siblings or friends and create a peaceful environment for children to learn in. I'm a singer and songwriter who also plays the flute to a high level and basic piano skills so I am available to teach music via vocal tuition (I am studying at degree level so levels 0-degree!), basic piano lessons (to grade 5/6) and flute (grades 0-7)! I am also an adept fine artist and as an ex Steiner school assistant, I am experienced in generally teaching art and music. I possess an enhanced DBS check.

I am very influenced by child directed learning - if a child shows enthusiasm for a song for example, we will learn it even if it takes simplification. I am also influenced by Steiner's approach to learning which is of a similar outlook favouring learning in nature (admittedly tricky in London!). I enjoy letting things flow out of the child/ children's interest therefore, encouraging partner work (if I teach a group of children) and kinaesthetic learning as I feel that learning on all levels is important for the teachings to run deep - for example rhymes to remember certain patterns or movement to remember certain rhythms. Music is a kinetic art, anyways.
