About Kate
Hello, I am Kate and I live in the beautiful city of York. In 2001 I began my PGCE in Drama and English, and I then went onto teach in secondary schools, and I also became the Head of Drama. In 2018 I decided to begin teaching online, and I then got my 168 hour TEFL qualification. Since then I have students from all over the world, from KS2 age to adults. Some of my students I have had since 2020. I teach ESL to both teenagers to adults, and I am currently assisting exam students through all aspects of their English exams, and with my adult students we go through a lot of English business together, so that they are confident working with their international colleagues, and clients. In another teaching capacity I teach Creative Writing to middle-school students, and English skills to KS2, KS3 and GCSE students.

- With all of my students, I assess your base level, and find out your interests, to then plan your individual lessons.
- I work very closely with all of my students, and I keep you well informed as to what we need to focus on, and how you are progressing.
- My lessons are usually between 40-50 minutes, depending on your learning requirements.
- I aim to push my students to their next levels, and am a very approachable and good humoured teacher.
- At KS2 I teach English skills, SATs and 11+ prep, and KS3 English skills. Teaching ESL I am experienced in business English and exam prep work, to all ages.
