About Renee
I have always loved reading, and while I understand it is not everyone's cup of tea, I believe that language studies are among the most impactful of education. As an English teacher, I am impassioned by the English language. I have a love for etymology, and find it fascinating how language morphs over years, manipulated by metaphors, humor, and simply, time. Currently, I am awaiting my Ontario Teachers license to be approved, though I do possess, and can provide, my Queensland teaching license. This means you will be accessing the knowledge and skills of a qualified teacher, with an arsenal of activities and resources to strengthen your English.

As a qualified teacher, I have experience in designing and enacting engaging lessons that challenge students where they need extension, and support students where they need assistance. I believe in a progression of independence and difficulty. This means I begin the lessons by modeling correct and appropriate processes, then, working collaboratively with the student, and finally, allowing time and space for the student to complete the work independently. This allows the student multiple attempts to strengthen their understanding and use of the new concept, with varying levels of support and independence. The progression typically bolsters student engagement and confidence. Additionally, I have taught Years 8, 9, 10, and 12 (in Brisbane, Australia), and as such, am equipped to assist with English across any grade.
