About Lila
Hey guys I'm Lila, an energetic and extremely passionate dance teacher always looking to spread my knowledge and passion for dance.
I began dancing at the age of 3 and have trained continuously ever since. From ages 14 to 17, I danced professionally part-time alongside my academic studies, competing in prestigious ballet competitions and intensives across Australia, including Australian Ballet School scholarship awards and the Brisbane International Contemporary Dance Prix.
Following my classical foundation, I transitioned into contemporary dance, where I discovered a strong passion for creativity and artistic expression. I later became a certified Progressing Contemporary Technique teacher and taught students aged 5 to 17 for approximately four years. During this time, I also developed my choreography practice, creating solos for talented students that were performed in prestigious competitions internationally, including YAGP.

My teaching approach is grounded in a balance of strong technical foundations and creative expression. I am an advocate for creativity, precision, and attention to detail, ensuring students develop both strong technique and their own unique artistic voice.
My early training began in classical ballet, which has given me a deep understanding of structure, alignment, discipline, and technical excellence. As my career progressed, my focus expanded into contemporary dance and choreography, where I developed a strong passion for movement quality, expression, and storytelling.
Lessons typically range from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the student’s needs and objectives. Each session is thoughtfully structured and may include warm-ups, technique drills, choreography development, and creative exploration through improvisation. My classes are both structured and flexible, ensuring students are appropriately challenged while still feeling supported and confident in their progress.
I am most confident in teaching ballet and contemporary dance, but I am open to working with students of all ages, levels, and goals — whether that is building confidence, improving technique, developing choreography skills, or simply exploring dance in a fun and supportive environment.
