About Declan James
I am currently a psychology student based in Manchester. In Sixth Form, I studied Triple BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care, and assessed on both formal examinations (end of year exams) and coursework (essays). I went on to achieve a D*DD equivalent to an A*AA in A-Level grading. In High School, I studied English Language and Literature, Maths, Science, Religious Studies and Drama. I achieved 2 Cs, 3 Bs and 2 As, achieving higher in Sciences, English, Maths and Religious Studies. Apart from my academic career, I have worked with teenagers and young adults in multiple settings including residential trips and youth clubs as a youth leader overlooking safeguarding and encouraging skills development and learning.

At first, I’ll see where your understanding is with the subject you need help in and in what topics. This would help me plan my lessons and piece together what would benefit your understanding the most. As a student myself, I understand my learning style is not the same as others. When tutoring, I would base my tutoring on what I think I find you learn best from i.e presenting questions and content verbally and discussing topics and questions in a conversational style or using texts and answering questions if asked and ensuring understanding though questions.
As a tutor, I take a friendly and patient approach to build a rapport and encourage learning and skills development.
