About Ria
I recently graduated with a Psychology BSc from the University of Leicester. Since then I gained some experience working in mental health with individuals with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and learning difficulties. I have always loved social science and in my free time I love to expand my knowledge in this area. I chose teaching as I feel that teaching social science subjects is highly beneficial to students and society. I feel that having an understanding of behaviour, relationships and social structures helps to develop multicultural competency in young people and encourages empathy.

My personal approach to tutoring is about developing love for the subject at hand. I feel that once you are able to bring the textbook to life is when students start to engage. I also have had one on one experience working with the main exam boards on what examiners look for. I have experience teaching social science subjects such as psychology and sociology to students from the ages of 11-18.

Ria had been my tutor for about a year and half while I was studying at sixth form. Her lessons are massively helpful and always gave me extra help with things I was struggling on. She was always happy and ready to help. I would definitely recommend Ria as a tutor to anyone
Ria is my friend and she tutored me for sociology and psychology for my A level exams. She was excellent at tailoring her tutoring to my specific needs by identifying the areas I needed the most help with in terms of subject knowledge and content, as well as helping to hugely improve my writing structure for long essay-style questions. I strongly recommend Ria as a tutor to others as her passion for social sciences is so evident, which really helps develop your understanding of the subjects as she is very articulate, and brilliant at explaining theories and their applications to the real-world.
