About Alicia
I have over 10 years of experience in Elementary Education, including roles as a Special Education Coordinator and Assistant Principal in New York. I have an M.A. in Special Education and an M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.
I love teaching the building blocks of reading! I have experience teaching Science of Reading programs like Core Knowledge Language Arts, Recipe for Reading, and Success for All. I have been professionally recorded teaching phonics.

My teaching approach is warm, engaging, and highly individualized.
The first session is free! I will administer a diagnostic to assess your child's knowledge of letter sounds and sight words. I use this data to create a personalized program sequence that also incorporates their strengths and interests. During lessons, we will practice reading and spelling routines using technology and physical books.
I have experience creating tools and scaffolds for children with dyslexia and learning disabilities.
I tutor K-4 students at local libraries in the Millburn/Maplewood area. I also provide virtual tutoring.
