About Julia
Hi guys and gals! Let's get this introduction thing out of the way so I can tell you what you can expect of me. My name is Julia Jones. You can call me Julia, or Ms. Jones, or what my nieces and nephews call me - Judy. I graduated from University of North Florida with a Social Science degree, but I have always excelled in the math arena.
I want you to be assured that you will always have a safe space with me and are welcomed with open arms and warmth. My students (as well as students who aren't assigned to me), boast about how easy and simple I break down complex lessons.
There will be absolutely no pressure from me to you. I will work with you at YOUR pace, not mine. You will be in an environment where any answer other than no answer is accepted. When engaging with me, you should have a sense of freedom and security. And, you can guarantee I will treat you with the utmost respect. I will not patronize you or make you feel "less than"; rather, will work as a team to achieve your goals.
Your lesson will be individually tailored to your needs. I do not offer a "one size fits all" solution. Rest easy knowing that I have your back and best interest at heart.

I strive to bring my teaching skills from the classroom to your home. My main focus is with grade school students and adults seeking to obtain a GED, although I welcome all. Not only am I a certified 6-12 mathematics teacher, but I'm also a certified self-learner and I want to teach others that skill that is important to have in life.
My strategies: First and foremost, no matter the age, people always work best with numbers when it is presented in an array of colors. I will initially start with a diagnostic assessment to gauge your most recent understanding of math; ranging from basic to a more complex understanding. From there I will build a personal learning strategy that only aligns with your particular needs. Your pace will lead my pace, depending on how quickly concepts are grasped.
I only have one rule: an incorrect answer is better than no answer. Don't be afraid to be wrong. I will create an environment that is friendly, warm and welcoming, productive, and educational.
If you choose me to be your personal math tutor, understanding math will be as easy as reciting your ABC's.
I'm here to help you on your mathematical journey.

As you can see, my hourly rate is $30/hr. Prices will decrease based on the packages you choose to purchase. Travel expenses will apply if we meet face-to-face. Home is fine, but public places are preferred.
