About Samuel
I am currently on a gap year and will be studying Chemistry at the University of Manchester in September. During my gap year I worked as a teaching assistant in year 11 Maths lessons. At lunchtimes I also offered additional support to pupils who were struggling with the content in class. This involved planning lessons, finding the student's individual weaknesses and setting work accordingly.
For my A Levels I studied Chemistry, Biology and Maths achieving three As.

A good starting point is to assess a student's strengths and weaknesses. I would set a test to be completed outside of lesson. It could then be sent back to me or we could go through it together in the next tutorial.
Going forward, I would start each lesson with a short starter task covering a wide range of topics and then move on to a few examples on the topic for that lesson. The student would then be given chance to work through some questions on their own and I would offer guidance as needed.
