About Mike
My journey in programming began with curiosity about how simple instructions could create powerful software. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science followed by an M.Sc in Software Development, where I deepened my understanding of algorithms, software architecture, and practical application of programming concepts. Over the past 11 years, I have guided learners of varying ages and skill levels, helping them gain confidence, competence, and creativity in coding.
I believe every learner has the potential to excel in programming if taught with clarity, structure, and encouragement. Many students struggle with syntax, logic, or abstract concepts initially, so I focus on clear explanations, practical exercises, and hands-on projects that reinforce understanding. I tailor lessons to the student’s pace, learning style, and goals, providing both conceptual and applied guidance to build mastery.
Outside teaching, I remain actively engaged with new programming languages, frameworks, and software development trends. Teaching programming is deeply rewarding because I witness students evolve from uncertainty to problem-solving independence, creativity, and technical skill. Helping learners gain the confidence and tools to succeed in programming and technology is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Programming is most effective when students understand the logic behind code and can see how individual steps combine to create functioning applications. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation in Python, Java, C++, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and structured problem-solving. Each concept is explained with clarity, supported by interactive exercises, real-world examples, and project-based learning. I encourage learners to experiment, make mistakes safely, and learn from each attempt, fostering resilience and confidence in their coding abilities.
For intermediate and advanced learners, lessons cover data structures, recursion, algorithm optimization, API integration, and software design patterns. I guide students in thinking systematically, breaking complex problems into manageable tasks, and testing code rigorously. Hands-on projects, coding challenges, and iterative feedback ensure that students strengthen both their technical skills and analytical thinking. Lessons are tailored to academic goals, professional development, or personal coding projects, providing a personalized roadmap for success.
Programming lessons also nurture creativity, logic, and structured problem-solving, which students carry into other areas of study and life. Many learners experience a transformation from hesitation to self-assurance, developing the confidence to design, analyze, and implement their own solutions.
