My teaching methods and techniques improved because of improvement from evidence and experiences through the years in actual classrooms and distance learning technology with students. Listening, on site or online, is paramount to an effective teacher. The purpose of teaching is what I can do for the students. I have learned about their culture and reaching out beyond the borders. For instance, as technology emerged, many pundits could not envision how technology would affect the art world. Today, graphic design is one of the most valuable skills a student of the arts can conquer because of the social media, film industry, advertising, and streaming. Therefore, listening, using past experiences, what I can do for the students, learning about their culture, and going beyond the borders creates a culture of being the change you want to create for your students, each other, and the world.
Lesson Plan: The class is entitled Professional Capital. This is a class that is included in the array of classes for the M.Ed. student in a college for the student/teacher in The Masters of Education program. The assignment is as follows: Create a 300-word essay using examples from text in the ways and methods a principal can strengthen capital to attract a more improved teacher base to increase test scores.
(Be sure to use APA format with at least 25 references).
The reasons that I excel as a tutor is that I start with myself. Gandhi profoundly stated, "Be the change you want to see in the world." I have always started with myself in the history of my teaching such as knowing my strength and weaknesses. Since the first day I started teaching art to middle schoolers, I have always had pride, joy and satisfaction reaching a student, regardless of their age, to understand a concept.
