About Demi
I have 12 years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance. My academic education provided advanced technical training and performance exposure. However, my extensive teaching experience has been equally important in shaping my instructional approach. I have learned how to adapt explanations to different ages and skill levels while maintaining clear and structured guidance.
I have supported beginners developing foundational skills as well as advanced students preparing for performances and formal examinations. I strongly believe that strong fundamentals combined with consistent practice create long-term success. My lessons are organised, disciplined, and encouraging, ensuring students feel motivated and supported throughout their musical journey.
Music education allows students to build discipline, patience, and self-confidence. Watching learners grow from basic technical exercises to confident and expressive performers is extremely rewarding. I remain committed to guiding each student with dedication, clarity, and continuous encouragement.

My violin lessons are carefully structured to build strong technical control while encouraging expressive and confident performance. At the beginning of training, I focus on posture alignment, relaxed shoulder positioning, and proper bow grip to ensure comfort and prevent strain. Early sessions include slow bow exercises on open strings to develop consistent tone quality and smooth sound production. Finger placement drills are practised carefully to strengthen intonation accuracy and left-hand coordination. I explain each adjustment clearly so students understand how technical precision directly improves musical expression.
As learners advance, we introduce scale systems in multiple keys, shifting between positions, and controlled vibrato exercises. Each advanced technique is divided into smaller steps so students can practise effectively without feeling overwhelmed. Repertoire pieces are selected thoughtfully according to skill level, ensuring balanced challenge and steady growth. We focus on phrasing, articulation, and dynamic variation to help students perform with musical sensitivity rather than mechanical accuracy. Regular revision sessions reinforce previously learned skills and maintain technical stability.
Performance preparation is approached in a detailed and supportive way. Students practise full pieces while maintaining steady rhythm, confident posture, and expressive tone. We discuss mental focus strategies and breathing techniques to reduce nervousness during recitals or assessments. Over time, learners develop smoother bow transitions, stronger projection, and deeper musical understanding. My goal is to guide each violinist towards refined, confident, and expressive performance.
