About Lesley Anne
I believe that lessons should be focused, but enjoyable with an ongoing view to the student's developing goals. I am classically trained (LTCL Performance, Trinity College of Music), have a Masters (Oxford Brookes) and PhD (University of West London) in Music, with professional experience ranging from classical through to session work, musical theatre and comedy. I have 7 years+ experience as a vocal coach at London College of Music and Oxford Brookes, specialising in Musical Theatre and Performance with 15+ years teaching experience.

Teaching Methods: The focus of my teaching is on a solid classical technique achieved through regular warm-up exercises which build breath control and focus of sound whilst simultaneously developing an awareness of posture and good vocal health. Pieces are worked on first in terms of breath and structure, from working sound into the voice, to word and breath learning and thence to building a performance. Although the technique is classical, I also specialise in musical theatre and pop as well as classical voice training. As well as singing for fun, I have experience preparing students for Musical Theatre (LCM) and Classical (ABRSM) exams, university assessments and professional auditions. Structure of lessons: Lessons are an hour long, with online sessions preceded by a free introductory meet up on Zoom ahead of the lesson date in order to set up audio settings, Bluetooth etc and ensure everything is just right for the first lesson. Lessons consist of 30 minutes warm-up/technique and 30 minutes working on a song to performance standard. Experience: As well as private teaching, I have taught Voice in Performance at Oxford Brookes since 2015 and have been an MT singing teacher/voice coach at London College of Music since 2016. I teach all ages from 10 years up and students range from beginners wanting to find their voice to music students and professionals working for exams, auditions and performance. Perfect! Lesley is very knowledgeable in her field and is patient and delightful to work with.
Perfect! Lesley is very lovely to work with and very thorough in what she does, she even helped me to set up my zoom audio and picture correctly! Even though we've just started with our lessons, Lesley is very encouraging and informative in the way she teaches, and I feel very fortunate to have found a vocal coach such as her. She has even helped provide me with the tools I need to continue learning even when we're in between lessons.
I was very shy and nervous going into this, but very quickly Lesley made me feel welcomed and at ease. I truly can't reccomend her enough as a vocal coach and think you would be remiss to not seek her out!- Laura is a delight to work with. Lesley is a formidable singing teacher all round! She is very experienced, professional and passionate. With a real talent, understanding and her constant up-to-date learning about the classical singing technique, she is a very reliable and confident teacher.
