About Sam
Hello! I'm Sam, a professional photographer and photography tutor with over half a decade of experience. I've worked across commercial, event, wildlife, and creative photography. I began my photography journey in 2019, and since then I’ve built a career that blends real-world industry work with teaching, mentoring, and one-to-one tutoring at GCSE, A-Level, and portfolio level.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach photography like a textbook. I teach it like a working professional. My lessons are practical, relaxed, and focused on real results — whether that’s higher grades, stronger portfolios, or confidence behind the camera. I adapt every lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style, so they get support that actually fits them.

I believe in a theory-to-practical style of teaching in which I will deliver the theory side of content and then give you personalised tasks to go away and try before the next lesson! These will be fun exercises which will boost your knowledge and develop your skills in the field. In addition to this my lessons are for all ages and hence tailored to your current experience level.
I have tutored several pupils through my career - including both younger pupils and teaching schools so they can run A-level photography courses.
1hr Lesson structures: Catch up on the last lesson's assignment, discuss the topic on the agenda and then set the next task before a friendly goodbye!
